Repression

It is a place that fascinates us from an early age.

and remains with us most of our life.
It is a place so intense that we are often ruled by it.
***********************************************************
We call ourselves free, except when it comes to sexual matters.
There, we are greatly restricted.
Schools that should be teaching sex education buckle under pressure from
concerned citizen groups.

.

.

Even in the privacy of our own homes,
we are watched under suspicious eyes.

.
.
.
.
and TV & Radio producers are fined and pressured
as to the content of their shows if it is considered too racy for sensitive
moral-minded American audiences.
****************************************************
*
*
*
*
Many medical professionals, doctors, physiological, and philosophers
extol the benefits of sexual liberation
and its benefits to society.
They are often defamed
and defunct by political and religious zealot leaders
on the grounds of morality and
family values.
.
.
.
As a result of sexual repression, our society experiences
an increase of frustration, stress and
emotional instability.
And we hear of numerous violent sex crimes
committed by perps and pervs as a result of intense and
long term suppression of sexual desires.
***********************************************************
Some studies have shown a decrease of such crimes
as much as 50% by societies who have legalized
pornography or other forms of sexual gratification.

So, why are we so pent up?

I agree with Shannon, Do what makes YOU happy, protect yourself, and don't hurt anyone else in your own self gratification!

It makes for a less stressful environment.

Do not censor. Educate.

And therein lies the solution.

SEX IS MY MAIN REASON TO LIVE!! Without sex I'd be totally nuts! I mean all that agression has to be released somewhere!

And screw the government for trying to silence our voices, we must keep on trying to survive in this stifling world!

Hello Shannon,
Yes it does, er...I mean it looks like it does. The authorities have been trying to get our hands out of our pants for years. No shame in adults feeling good, and that goes for drugs, sex and rock and roll.

Lee Ann,
so true. If we are a "free" society- why is everything such a big deal when it comes to personal freedom?

Neko-
I second that! and that is the key to most of societies woes.

Becky,
I love it also, I'm like a teenager when it comes to that. Mrs.P is still waiting for me to grow out of my sexual fixation.
Read any scientific papers of the benefits of healthy sex and it goes against everything we've been taught through the years..

Huh uh not me no way man.

I especially love a man's body. tee hee

As a godamn member of the religious right, I must say I feel a bit like I'm being attacked by this post. Celibacy, dude; it fuckin' rocks.

I am not certain if I use repression or not-you know.
As for education abt sex-well-OK, lets throw in there the whole: it should start at home.
How can people have children and not want their children to hear FROM THEM where children come from? If it wasn't such a 'no-no' subject than it wouldn't be such a sought after event. Or something like that. I can't seem to get my thoughts and words to jive.
I hope I made enuf sense...

Manny-
I think I love your body
also.

Wild- Thanks, your pretty wild.

Morbid-
Say it's not true...

Video-
When I was single I was a dog.
It's not easy out there.
Don't give up.

~d,
So true. No matter how uncomfortable some things are-
it does begin at home.
Hell- my Mom told me about the birds and bees- my Dad was too embarrassed- poor chump.
...and I understand ya.

"Why are we so pent up?"

If you look at the whole history of man, the invention of condoms, the birth control pill, and penicillin is less than a sliver on a fingernail.

So gruesome death by a horrible disease and poverty due to raising the resultant 16 kids would be two reasons (historically--and that's a lot of millenia of conditioning to erase...)

Most of human history was spent in the hunter/gatherer period. So, among other things, the female traded sex for security and the male demanded fidelity so he wouldn't have to raise Thog and Grak's kids as well as his own.

Many of these conditions are no longer relevant, but it is hard to erase centuries of conditioning just because Gloria Steinem wrote a book and some hippies rolled in the mud for one weekend in 1969.

Hi sweetie.

I don't mind quickies as long as the good ones cum.

I'm sure society will relax its many restrictions once the aliens invade.

It'll all seem unimportant on the inside of an analysis dome...

because this country is run by a bunch of old-fashioned prudes and god forbid if you see so much as a boob on television!

Great subject!! I agree with Shannon & Lee ann.
I say it too, do whatever makes you happy as long as no one gets hurt in the act. ;)
There are alot of people out there that are very sexual creatures, me being one of them. So why do we always seem to be censored is the question. We all need freedom to express ourselves without a back lashing. Me as a dancer I get critized all the time. Why because I m not ashamed to show my body, it doesnt make any sense to me.
But great post babe. I hope all is well with you sweetheart. Do take care of yourself. Love always, MM XOXOXOXOXOXOXO

"So, why are we so pent up?"

Goddamn religious freaks, that's why! Took many many years to UNDO my Catholic upbringing! Organized religion is just a nicer way of saying 'cult'!

I'm in a small town. FULL of catholics & lutherans. It makes me so angry when I see 15 year olds dropping out of high school because they are pregnant, bacause they have NOT been told about condoms, because they actually believe they can't get pregnant the first time, because they 'heard' if you drink a pepsi right after sex you can't get pregnant!??! AARRGGHHHhhh!!!

And that's where it starts, kids HAVING kids (because their parents don't educate them, the schools don't do their part, & certainly, the church doesn't do a damn thing to inform them!).

So, instead of thinking that 'sex', could be turned into 'love' they change it into 'sex is bad'...born unto a whole new group of pervs & sexual deviants 'repressed' as you say.

In closing, to lighten this up, I am currently 'repressed'. Only because I don't have air conditioning at home, it's 100 degrees + humidity & it's just TOO DAMN HOT to screw!!!!!
:-D

Oh this is a subject that is dear to my heart....I firmly believe communicating everything we can to our children in a an open, honest manner is THE best thing we can do, if we stop the repression at home, it continues in an outward flow...and when the parents of other children are unable to deal with it, I offer... it's amazing how many have taken me up on it....I have two very well-rounded children...and it is from being open and honest...it starts early...see something..talk about it...they ask something...talk about it....as to the pervs and the so on....again a subject that has to be talked about...I spent 6 years of my life teaching children about child abuse....in that process...I had to fight those that wanted their children to not know...luckily I won the argument everytime except 1...and those classes got the families talking about sexuality in more open healthy ways....so KEEP COMMUNICATING...change happens by one voice at a time...

Zen-
As Neko said, "Don'e censor, educate."
I think Thog and Grak are still amoung us in countless droves through out the world;
ignorant, shoeless and with many indescribable horrible diseases
and many spawn. How do we get through to them, when even the powers that be refuse to address the problem of Aides (such as Africa). Oh, the humanity!

Manny, come here honey...
Maa! hug- squeeze;
Now that was nice...

Gyrobo, I think they have already invaded us in the form of terrorists. Can the Earth pull together as one to fight this invasion? Hmmm, I wonder.
and will we come out of this a changed world? For the better?

Webmiztris,
Right, the world is self destructing, and what is the headlines? Janet Jacksons tit.

Mystical Me,
Maybe we just don't get it,
but isn't it all about personal freedom? There should be no if, ands or buts!

Sunny-
You hit the nail on the head,
I think that is how any change comes about- through educating
the children.
And if people won't do it then it does come down to the schools responsibility- for the good of the free society.

I strongly believe in the rights of the individual as long as it's not physically harmful to anyone.

Life is meant to be enjoyed. Sometimes it takes us a long time to figure out what we want and/or need because we're so concerned about what others may think or how it'll effect them.

I say live your life on your terms. If you have needs express them and be happy with your choices.

Murder - fine!
Sex - dont embarass us.....

ZooooM said...

This is the line that resonates with me:

"We call ourselves free, except when it comes to sexual matters.
There, we are greatly restricted."

I am often amazed at how uncomfortable I can make people just by speaking about sex as if I were putting together a grocery list for the store.

Polyman2 said...

Indigo,
As adults, the majority of us hopefully reach that point where
we are able to think for ourselves and make responsible decisions & judgements. We do not need anyone telling us what is right or wrong,
and how we should live our lives according to their rules. That is America and this freedom that we are fighting and dying for all over the globe.

mush,
Media & TV are so obsessed with murder, mayham and tongue in cheek
sexual teasy teasy that it makes me sick.

Zooom-
Forget about that! It is the sheer hyprocracy of our society that the mere mention of sexuality sends people running.

...hmmm...

i heard that fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity...

freedom fighters and terrorists are the same people, depending on which side of the fence you find yourself..

i dont agree with war. and i dont agree with censorship.

people should be able to decide for themselves.

do what you want, make yourself happy, but dont hurt anyone else in your endeavours.

I say what Sunny said!

People - talk to and with your children!

Polyman2 said...

Myst,
Thx honey.

Neko,
War & violence are never good, but sadly if someone comes to harm you, you must answer in kind.
Maybe someday, if we survive, we will rise above it.
-and censorship has no place in the global environment. What is good for one society should be good for another.

Ashley,
What are they afraid of?
A little T & A never hurt anyone. Guns and bombs do.
Our society has such double standards it's nausiating.
-and Hey- that felt good.
Your so bad your good.
